Description

OK, be prepared for a long story here.
At about the end of may 2009, I decided that I'd put together some stuff and send it off to the Doctor Who production Office as a kind of tribute to David Tennant. I spent about 4-5 months working on two drawings, a story and a letter (I had to re-edit it so many times until I managed to cram all I wanted to say into a full A4 page LOL), and then I sent it off with my Aunt (who lives in Cardiff and has a friend in the BBC) to Doctor Who. Two weeks later they replied!!!! My mum sent me a text during the day (I was at school at the time) saying "A letter for you from BBC wales!". I was so excited on the bus journey home, which jamdreamer can verify, that when I tried to speak, I squeaked. When I got home, I grabbed the letter off the table, ran up to my room, jumped, landed on my bed and sat there for more than 5 minutes, just staring at the envelope, unable to open it out of sheer excitement. Eventually, I did, and this is what the letter said;

Dear Eimear

Many thanks for your interest in the new series of 'Doctor Who'.

Thanks for your submission. We are returning it to you unconsidered and unread. We are unable to consider your material at this time as we have all our scripts commisioned.

Thank you very much for your interest in the programme.

Yours sincerely

Heartbroken was, or rather is, not the word. They sent it all back. The short story (I did, by the way write on the cover of it "This is a short story I wrote for fun"), the drawings, even THE LETTER. Every time I read the reply, I start crying. I'm crying now, and it takes a lot to make me cry.
Let this serve as a warning to Doctor Who fans. Don't make the same mistake I did.
